From the spaghetti bowl:
Head south on 395 and take the Mt. Rose highway (hwy 431) exit 56
Continue west (towards Mt. Rose) on Mt. Rose highway for 3 miles, then turn left on Callahan Ranch Rd.
Continue for 1.5 miles and you will see a dirt parking area on your right, right before you cross the creek.
There is additional parking just past the dirt lot at the playground area.
From the spaghetti bowl:
Head south on 395 and take the Mt. Rose highway (hwy 431) exit 56
Continue west (towards Mt. Rose) on Mt. Rose highway for 4 miles, then turn right on N Timberline Rd.
Continue on Timberline Rd onto the dirt and go over a bridge for a total of 1.3 miles. Then, the paved parking area will be on your left.
From the spaghetti bowl:
Head north on 395 and take the Parr/Dandini exit. Turn left onto Parr Blvd.
Take Parr to Virginia, and turn right on Virginia.
Head north on Virginia for about a quarter mile, past the Bonanza, and then turn left onto Hoge Rd.
Continue up the hill, onto the dirt, and through the “S” turn and you will see the trailhead near the base of the radio towers.
From the spaghetti bowl:
Head north on 395 and take the N McCarran exit 70A. Turn left onto N McCarran Blvd.
Continue for 2 miles and turn right onto N Virginia St.
Continue for 0.3 mile and take the first possible left turn, just after the softball fields. We usually park towards the far end, nearest to the trailhead.
From the spaghetti bowl:
Head west on I-80 and take the Virginia St. exit. Continue through 2 stop lights and turn right onto Sierra St.
Head north on Sierra St. for 0.7 miles and turn left onto Putnam to enter the park (Signs for Rancho San Rafael).
Continue on the park road for about 0.2 mile and turn right at the first stop sign (Wilbur D. May Center).
From the spaghetti bowl:
Head east on I-80 and take the S McCarran Blvd exit. Turn right onto S McCarran.
Continue on S McCarran for 2.5 miles. Turn left onto Pembroke Dr.
Continue on Pembroke for 1.9 miles and turn right onto Parkway Dr.
Continue through the park gates and take your first left turn, which will swoop uphill and to the right before you come to the dirt parking area at the top of the park on your right.
